Guest guest
I would guess if your basal really was flat-lined, that you may not have a cycle, ovaries in or not. There should be a definite drop, then spike up, like the graph on that website. You're not using a digital thermometer are you? Some of those are pretty inaccurate. Guest guest
Barb, My basals are definitely not flat lined. They go up and down but don't look at all like that graph. I am using digital thermometers but I have tested them and they are consistant so I trust them. They are the ones Dr. Rind suggested. Guest guest
If you have about 3 months of data, it should look like a sine wave. http://www.engr.trinity.edu/~paul/fourier/fourier/fseries1.gif On my graph, it's quite jagged, but if you were to smooth the curve out, it looks like a repeating sine wave. Temps up to 98.8, then down to 97.9, then repeat headed up, etc. Barb " English stage 5 burden 12 " wrote: > > Barb, > My basals are definitely not flat lined. Guest guest
I found this and it makes me feel better. Basal temp for one month looks more like this: http://library.med.utah.edu/kw/human_reprod/mml/hrinfert_bbchart_zoom.html English > > If you have about 3 months of data, it should look like a sine wave. > http://www.engr.trinity.edu/~paul/fourier/fourier/fseries1.gif > > On my graph, it's quite jagged, but if you were to smooth the curve > out, it looks like a repeating sine wave. Guest guest
, great find, but this chart has basal ranging from 97.5-98.6. Isn't a basal of 98.6 kind of high? So I searched some more and found another one at: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/bbt/bbtfaq.html But this one says basal can go as high as 99.0 after ovulation! Now I'm totally confused. I guess temps can only be a guide to optimization for me. I might have to rely more on symptoms. Q: What are average BBTs? A: The average range of BBTs is between 97.0-97.7 before ovulation and 97.7-99.0 after ovulation. Ideally, a woman's temperature will not bounce around more than .5 degrees in the follicular phase and will stay above the coverline during the luteal phase. Q: My BBTs are lower/higher than average, what does this mean? A: Either case warrants checking your thyroid. Low BBTs are often a sign of hypothyroid which can cause some fertility and pregnancy problems. Excessively high temperatures may indicate hyperthyroid. Guest guest
Yeah, but wouldn't this be an 'adrenal graph'? Esmerlaa I found this and it makes me feel better.
