Guest guest
I just spoke with my ex-husband who relayed a problem he is having and I thought this would be the perfect place to come for suggestions. He has sleep apnea, and was tested through his insurance Kaiser (in southern California) for this. They are recommending CPAP but refusing to cover the cost of the machine, stating that his plan does not cover this. However, the plan DID cover a Pulmoaide (several actually) for our son with chronic lung disease, free of cost. Does this make sense to anyone? Anyway, I told him to fight it, but am not sure how to appeal this. He says the cost of the CPAP machine is $600.00, which he does not have. I would like to help him as much as possible, as this is a longstanding problem and the sleep deprivation may cause him to lose his job if not corrected, not to mention is just basically messing up his life. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Dawna
Guest guest
Go to www.sleepnet.com and go to the sleep apnea forums. There are people there who can tell you of web sites where you can order CPAPs at the best prices. Also, you can do a search on CPAP on the internet and find sites selling CPAPs. I would go to the forums to find out which sites are reputable if it were me. He may even be able to find someone who had surgery and no longer needs their CPAP and may sell it to him for a reduced price, or posisbly even give it to him if he gets lucky.
