Guest guest
Hi, We have been doing intermittent catheterization for almost 6 years. I have found that looking for other symptoms ie low urine output, coloraton, a signal that a uti strip might be needed. Always make sure to keep sample sterile, of course containers can have bacteria. I used to run a sample to the uroligist when I felt there might be a problem, usually the nurse would say it may look bad, but for him the bacteria is not too high. So, I think you need to check a few other things and not go strictly by uti every few days. That's just my opinion-hope it helps.
