Guest guest
We started at 16mm and after about 3 months we were down to 3mm 16mm asym. Did you babys asym fix in his or her face? Who has had 16mm or above and how much correction did you see?I went yesterday and they scan his head and it is at 16mm he is 6.5 months old he has had his helmet on for a month and a half. The doctor told him that he never knows what the face asym will do. That is my major concern. Please let me know if your childs face was corrected or not. The unknown is hard but maybe a little possitive stories might help. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
My son started with 20mm asym at 6 months and finished with 9mm at 9 months with his first DOC band. He started his second at 10 months. He's been wearing his second for 6 weeks and we can already see a great deal of correction. CT feels at the end of treatment, around 6 more weeks, he will be down to a 3 or so. Good Luck to you! Staci
Guest guest
My sons really almost completely corrected. He looks great, he was 15 mm and banded for 8 weeks from 4 months to 6. You will see correction, dont give up hope. Tammy From: katiegpatrick <katiegpatrick@...>Subject: 16mm asym. Guest guest
My son wasn’t measured before his first band, but before his second band he measured 14mm – so I have to assume he was at least 18mm if not more to start. We began the journey at 6 months and finished at 12 months. He just graduated with only 1mm of asymmetry, so yes it definitely helps! To be honest, I didn’t notice his facial or ear asymmetry prior to the banding – but, yes, obviously he had it and now I do notice it. His ears are still off, but only the trained eye (or obsessed mother’s eye!) would notice. He does still have some facial asymmetry – basically the right side of his face looks a bit bigger than the left (by his upper cheekbone/temporal area), but it appears I am the only one fixated on it so it really isn’t too bad.
