Guest guest
>>Val i don't have HC tablets, only 5mg capsules, how to divide them on 2.5mg?<< You could buy 1% HC cream to make up the smaller doses. 1/4 tsp of the 1% cream contians 10MG HC. I also think your T3 is high as you body is not able to utilize it from low corisol so as you raise HC you should watch for too high temps say over 99 fo rthe day and that would mean you should lower the Thyroid until the excess is used up usually 3-5 days. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
You should wait to increase your thyroid until you have your HC at the correct level. You will know you have it at the correct level when your temperatures are stable for about a week. If you go to www.drrind.com it will explain in detail how to graph your temps. Basically, you take your temperature 3 times each day and average them. When the average temperature stays within .2 degrees farenheight then you can start slowly adding thyroid in. Here is a link to the ramp up schedule in the files section for HC: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/files/Ho w%20to%20Treat%20Low%20Cortisol/ Since you can't split the capsules, you can buy 1% hydrocortosine cream at the store over the counter and use it for any doses of 2.5mg if you need to. This would be 1/16tsp for 2.5mg. Otherwise, I guess you could add in a 5mg capsule dose instead of a 2.5 mg dose. This would increase your risk of a thyroid dump though. (this is when all the thyroid hormone in your bloodstream gets into your cells at one time). That is why it is important to go up slowly on the HC and to wait until your temps are stable until you start adding in more thyroid. Many times people have to lower the amount of thyroid they are taking while adding HC doses. Cherie A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
