If your son is growing really fast then he will grow out of the band before he is a year old. As much as the ortho might want him to stay in it that long it might not be physically possible to do so. My personal suggestion would be to wear it until it no longer fits, whether that happens to be 8 weeks from now or 5 months from now. Or, wear it until you are happy with the shape of his head. Molly Novato, California Nicolas, 2.5, tort & plagio, STARband (CIRS Oakland) 4/24/06-9/12/06, Graduate! , 5 , 8.5 regression after removal Hello - my son got his 2nd helmet from Hanger yesterday, it is a MUCH better fit and bigger so he can grow into it. we have seen improvement already, minor, but improvement! anyhow, my orthotist said he sees a lot of parents eager to take the helmet off and then regression occurs. from what I have read on postings there isnt anyone who has experienced regression, or is there? my son is 7 months with moderate plagio, my orthotist is suggesting he wear it all the way up to a year, my husband and I were hoping 8 - 12 weeks since he is growing so fast and improving each check up. but on the other hand we dont want to see regression either. has anyone experience mild to significant regression after removing the helmet?
