" Dear Tina, Who says we have good eating habits, LOL. I for one sure don't. I knew before the surgery I wouldn't. Why would I be able to change everything I have failed to do for years just because of the band? But you see, the beauty of the band is, that even though I still eat my cakes (yum) I am losing weight. Isn't it great? Now for those of us who can actually change their ways completely and only eat healthy food, congratulations. But I know I can't. I still eat the same things I used to, but I cannot get as much of it down anymore. Now to your weight loss: 32 lbs in 5 months is better than nothing, isn't it? Ask yourself if you would have been able to lose that much (and keep it off) on a regular diet. I know I wouldn't be able to. I also would love to lose all my excess weight overnight, but it is just not going to happen. My doctor says it will take two years...so I still have another 20 months to go. The experts even say (and we do not really want to hear this) that it is not good to lose weight too fast, as the body thinks it is being starved and once we lost the weight wants to get back to the initial weight. But as you do, I also set myself goals. I had my second adjustment last Saturday and I now want to try and lose about 20 lbs until the end of September. I seem to have enough willpower to " be good " for 4 -6 weeks. I reckon that if I do these diets within the next 20 months I should be able to get down to my goal weight.
