Guest guest
T4 has iodine too. 4 atoms per molecule of T4 vs 3 atoms of iodine in T3. If a person taking a thyroid with T4 such as armour, Thyroid-S, synthroid is actually converting T4 to T3, every conversion of a T4 molecule into a T3 molecule results in an atom of unbound iodine being freed from the T4 molecule. It seems logical from the names of the hormone molecules that conversions from T3 to T2 and T1 (whatever the sequence is) also result in atoms of free iodine being released. Or so I think. sol MsSquarepants wrote: > Iodine can make AF worse because T3 is iodine and tyrosine (amino acid).
