A later book " Feeling Fat, Fuzzy, Frazzled " covers not just thyroid, but adrenals and sex hormones too. It's the book that started me on this journey. > Living Well With Hypothroidism J Shomon. At least I'm maybe safe - 'Jim' is not a really common woman's name, and we all know of the 50:1 ratio - I'm just wondering WHY.. Most autoimmune disorders are 4:1 or 9:1 (Lahita, Women and Autoimmune Diseases). Diabetes (1) seems to be one of the few exceptions, being only slightly more common in girls. I wonder if there is a discrepancy for Type 2 (and if it were small it would be VERY hard to find. I have a hunch that the immune system is involved in T2 as well as T1, so their might be) Anyway, Shoman's book is good. I was going to get Thyroid Power, but read some negative or so/so reviews on Amazon, that it is good for a novice, but not for people who already know a lot. And the person said it didn't say ANYTHING about total replacement, so is useless for someone who doesn't have a thyroid (or has Hashi's that's gone to completion - if that's possible) Jim
