Welcome to the group. It sounds like you are a very active mom when it comes to your daughter and plagio. Since she is only 3 months old, you can try repositioning until you can get into see the neurosurgeon. Our pediatrician noticed my son's plagio around 2 months and told me to try doing repo. I tried it for 2 months and when we went back for his 4 month check up, they gave me a referral to Cranial Tech (CT). He started wearing his band around 5 1/2 months and only had to wear it for 12 weeks.

If you can, I would go in for a free consultation at Cranial Technologies. They can ease your mind and let you know what is going on with your daughter. Until you get in to see the neurosurgeon or CT, I would continue to do repositioning. I know you can go to Target for memory foam, you can also find some good sleep positioners on the internet.

Don't let any one tell you that you are over reacting, If you have to put your foot down with your doctor to get your referral, then do it. Repositioning can be very successful. However, in a lot of cases, a band of some sort is necessary.

Best of Luck, Keep us posted.

[sPAM] cranio tech before neurosurgeon??

Hi, I am very new at this, my daughter is 3 months old and I know she has mild-mod plagio (I hope that's all, haven't seen the specialist yet). Anyway, I am waiting for the referral to go through. I was wondering if it's possible to have the consultation at craniotech before the neuro app. I am just anticipating it will be a long wait for her appointment, and would it be helpful to have a report from cranio with me for the dr. visit? Maybe I am totally wrong, please let me know what you think? Also, I think cranio's assessment early on would be a great baseline for the repositioning process. Does cranio typically have a long wait?? Also, does anyone know of a good way to buy memory foam for repositioning?Typically, how long have most of you waited for your neuro appoinment? At what point should I put my foot down and beg for a sooner one?? She's 3 months, and I asked how long the wait is and they said June (if it's not urgent). My pedi didn't even think a referral was necessary--she's one of those who say "she'll grow out of it"! So I know my pedi will make it seem non-urgent.....any thoughts???Last thing, my pedi doesn't think xrays are necessary. It sounds like most of your little ones had xrays right away. Should I wait and ask the neurosurgeon, or ask my pedi again?? She thinks I'm over-reacting, and our chemistry isn't very good right now. I have started repositioning so we'll see..... Sorry for all of the questions, I just have so much to figure out, and I'd be lost without all of you!!!!! Thanks,Maggie
