I prefer teh Bayer Contour meter. There is no strip coding adn it is

fast and accurate. The strips are expensive though btu most people would

not need ot test as often as I do so it should not be as big of an

idsuue. I test abotu 10 times a dy!

It was not a recall - In late 2006, someone, NOT Lifescan, manufactured fake

strips and sold them as OT Ultras. Both the Ultra and Ultra Smart Meter use the

same strips.

I got the Ascensia Contour that Val recommended for like $30 on Amazon

and it's really easy to use. Try to find a doc to write you a script

for the strips b/c they're $1 a piece at the drugstore.
