Guest guest
Hi , It really isn't a good idea to take stimulants if you have adrenal fatigue. You need to let your adrenal gland rest and recuperate. It can't do that if you are poking it with a stick. That is pretty much what you are doing when you take any stimulants like Provigil and caffine. I know, I'm not thrilled about it either. i'm still working on weaning myself off of caffine. I already stopped taking my Provigil. That wasn't as hard as I thought it would be though once I started taking the HC. Honestly I think I had gotten to a point that my adrenals just couldn't be stimulated much so it wasn't really doing anything anyway. Cherie A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright > > I Need to know, Is this okay to stimulate our hypothalamus? Guest guest
> i'm still working on weaning myself off of caffine. > I drank LOTS of coke before all this started - and it seemed to get ineffective, possibly because it couldn't poke the adrenals any further. I'm almost weaned off of Isocort, and had about 4 oz of caffeinated coke (there's a study that showed caffeine may be useful in the treatment of pred. withdrawl. Don't know if it applies to things other than pred, or to a digestive route for the caffiene.) But WOW - I'm not going to have anything more with caffeine for a long damn while now.. It seemed even stronger than the small amounts I had when I was on *more* Isocort - would this indicate the adrenals did indeed heal, or that the ACH signal to them was just stronger (caffeine stimulates ACTH - I presume centrally, so perhaps that helps to re-establish things in pred. withdrawl. Of course, pred essentially shuts the whole HPA (I read on one page that a typical dosage was *20-80 mg*. I'd think that would kill a person's adrenals, in much less than the " 7-day " limit I've read of pred. Jim
