Guest guest
Hi Ellen It was Dec. 2003 when my breast was hurting and there was a hard spot where the surgery was. (My tumors were very deep in the middle of my breast, they were never felt) Well, when I had the mammogram my surgeon said it looks like a blood clot. When I had it aspirated the Dr. that did it couldn't believe it, because it was old blood and a bunch of it. He didn't know what caused it. Then sometime in Jan. 2004 I had to have it aspirated 2 more times, and then in Feb. I asked my surgeon and my oncologist and they both said " they didn't know why. " I am never satisfied with that answer, so I went on the net, and the same thing " they didn't know why. " That is the reason I had a Mastectomy just so I wouldn't have to go through that again and again. Also, the pain of the blood build up was just aggravating for me. Maybe there is something new on the net about blood clots in the breast; I have not looked any more. I had a tumor on the right breast when I was 16, it was benign but it was a big one. Then when I was 48 that is when I got cancer. When I had my lymph node surgery and everything turned out fine. Then the radiation. After everything was over with, I did let out a sigh of relief, that it is over. Until my surgeon and oncologist told me I still have to see them every six months. The reality of " cancer " never goes away, especially when I have to see these Dr's every 6 months. Lynn South Carolina
