Guest guest
That's exactly the conundrum that we find ourselves in - we need more sleep to heal the adrenals, but we can't sleep b/c we're using HC to supplement the adrenals. It's a miserable problem. I need to pick up my Pediapred on the way home from work, but I'm going to wait to see what Val thinks about the dosing schedule of 10 - 10 - 7.5 - 7.5 - 5 that someone over on Real Thyroid was strongly advocating under the theory that with such big doses in the AM were suppressing ACTH to the point that we're dipping too low in the evening and over night. I guess I don't see how moving just 2.5mg from AM to evening can make such a difference, but what I do know - obviously not much because I'm only sleeping 6 hours a night and I'm walking around dizzy all day with a stomach ache LOL. This is what she wrote another insomnia sufferer who is on 37.5mg/day: " Maybe you should work it out so you take more at bedtime. Taking those higher doses in the am like the 12.5 then 10 will cause you to go to low by bedtime and thru the nighttime. Maybe you can try 10, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5 then 5 mg at bedtime. Not keeping your dose so much higher in the am. I am sure that will help you sleep. Not the case for me. My sleep has been horrible for over 20 years. And I don't see it has gotten worse since HC, but it hasn't gotten much better either. A little better sometimes, but not enough better to be significant as to deep sleep or healing. Had my sleep been great prior to HC and then went to what it is now, I'd probably have stopped the HC to be honest. As it is, I'm taking HC and thyroid in the hope that eventually I'll be able to sleep and in the hope my allergies will go into remission. sol
