Guest guest
Sorry to hear you are not having a good experience. I would go back and get it adjusted and make sure it is the right band. My son had to have his band adjusted once during the first week and after that, it's fit great. I hope this is the case with your babies band. Good luck, Sybil From: daisyandsophie <louisa@...>Subject: Red Spots from new helmetPlagiocephaly Date: Friday, May 2, 2008, 1:15 AM I am new to the group. My 7 month old daughter just got her helmet on Monday, and we have already been back one time to readjust, and I just noticed a red spot that took almost two hours to fade on the back of her neck where the helmet rests. She had been sleeping for about two hours on that side (it is the flat side, which she favors). I am supposed to leave to go out of town tomorrow for a few weeks. Is it worth postponing my departure to go back to the orthotist for another adjustment? This helmet (Starband) seems to fit so poorly I have a hard time believing this is a custom-fitted product! That or we somehow ended up with the wrong helmet. Also, is she going to become less miserable as time goes on? Will I? This is just breaking my heart! Guest guest
If it doesn't fit well then that could explain why she isn't adjusting well. Most babies adjust just fine. If you feel that the band does not fit correctly then I would go back until they get it right. I'd much rather do that than have my child's head get worse (incorrect fit could result in the head shape getting worse). Good luck. Please keep us posted.
