I just remember stopping because I began to feel worse. Last yearI tried Vagifem. Used to be on premarin many years ago, but stopped it after 5 years because it didn't relieve hot flashes (my main concern) except at the highest dose, and my doctor told me I couldn't keep on at that high a dose. After that I used black cohosh, plant estrogens (shudder--soy), wild yam cream and the like for a while but gradually stopped those too, as they didn't seem to do much. FWIW, I tried a progesterone cream last year too, as I had symptoms of estrogen dominance, but that also made me feel worse. I may have tried the vagifem along with the progesterone cream also, but don't really remember. Sorry not to be able to detail symptoms. sol > > >
Guest guest
I forgot to say vagifem is estradiol 25mcg per each vag tablet. Is that a synthetic or what? sol wrote: > What happens when you take estrogen, and what kind have you tried? I just remember stopping because I began to feel worse. Last yearI tried Vagifem. Guest guest
Sounds liek your hot flashes mayhave been adrenal and not low estrogen, have you had bblood testing done for it? I was on 2.5mg Premarin for 25 years! Yeah high dose but it was all that worked fdor me then now I am just on 6.2 and it seems to be plenty. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
From what I can find, Vagifem is a synthetic estrogen that is considered bioidelntical. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
I hope you meant .62 ? I imagine my hot flashes could have easily been adrenal, as they have never stopped. They got less over the years, and were lessened on premarin high dose, but the side effects were not good, and the doc said stop so I did, back then I did what doctors told me to do mostly, I was just barely beginning to take things into my own hands, just barely. sol wrote: > Sounds liek your hot flashes mayhave been adrenal and not low estrogen, > have you had bblood testing done for it? Guest guest
Val said that's what it sounds like, and I think so too, now, since I keep reading that hot flushes are a low cortisol symptom. 13 to 18 years ago, I barely knew I had adrenals. Years ago I wrote to an online question/answer site at some eastern hospital and asked why I still was having hot flushes even though I wasn't taking any hormones, and theoretically the flashes should have stopped after a few years, and was told " some women just always continue to have hot flashes " . LOL, sol MsSquarepants wrote: > Do you think your hot flashes were more of an adrenal symptom then?
