Guest guest
I'm glad this came up because I was wondering more about it. I have insulin resistance that I am really trying to get under control. Can it really resolve with treatment of adrenal fatigue? I've been stumped as to why I have this issue because I eat healthy, am not overweight, etc. Have people had their blood sugar issues resolve with treatment of AF? Does anyone know any good sources to read more about the connection of the two? Guest guest
I am not sure if the insulin resistance ois from the adrenal fatigue or the hypothyroidism. I suspect it is fom hypothyroidism and the adrenals cause the hypoglycemia thta thne starts th glucose swining high and low thtw makes insulin resuistance worse. I would google hypothyroid and insulin resistance. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Check out Dr. 's info on hypoglycemia on www.adrenalfatigue.com and his book. I would also google " adrenal fatigue hypoglycemia " to see what you find. Yes, a lot of people resolve their glycemic issues with treatment of adrenal issues. I know my hypoglycemia was severe when I crashed badly, I adjusted my diet by eating every 2-3 hours but could not eat any carbs or sweets for a year and then I started treating my adrenals and I could start eating that stuff. I did switch to the good carbs though. It seems now on HC it is even better for me. I am not diabetic so I don't have that to deal with thank goodness. Was told I was " prediabetic " back in the mid 80s already but it never developed to full fledge so I think my issues are all related to my adrenals. Guest guest
I'm Type 1 diabetic so I didn't have IR-caused glycemic issues (I don't think - my bolus didn't change), but I did have wider swings before going on Isocort, which got better soon after I started, and now have come back (though I don't think as badly) since I've weaned off. This time they seem to be more on the hypoglycemic end, although it swings widely in both directions. Jim > Yes, a lot of people resolve their glycemic issues with treatment > of adrenal > issues. Guest guest
Cheri, Which type of carbs did you cut out for a year - grains? Did you still eat vegetables? Can you give some ideas of what you ate for that year? Tina > > Check out Dr. 's info on hypoglycemia on www.adrenalfatigue.com and > his book. Guest guest
I cut out everything...grains, pastas, corn, veggies. I was very limited in what I could eat because my body was so messed up. I don't recommend that since it is not a healthy way to eat...I just couldn't tolerate anything at the time. Your body does need carbs in good forms like veggies and complex carbs.
