Guest guest
Cheri, Does the Cortaid absorb better than the generics? Do you use it on an elbow and knee at the same time? I am finding I have to spread it on a large area each time and keep working it into the skin. I takes a really long time to fully absorb. Do you find that also? Thanks so much for all the help, Tina
Guest guest
Cheri, Are you dosing the same on the Cortaid as you were with capsules? Do you have to make any adjustments using the Cortaid 12 hour - how often do you apply it? My sweet husband went out early this morning to Walmart when I told him about you using the Advanced 12 hour and they actually had it there!! If you can't get it online or its too pricey, let me know and I can get it here for you and mail it to you. Can't thank you enough, Tina > > Cheri, > > Does the Cortaid absorb better than the generics? Do you use it on an > elbow and knee at the same time? Guest guest
Tina, I never took capsules. I was on Isocort pills before and before that Adrenal Rebuilder. I did a ramp up so on Isocort I think I was as far as 25 mg but 25 mg of HC cream worked better and I kept increasing until my dosage was 35 mg. I am now back down to 25 mg (did stress dose to 30 mg during period) so we will see if I can hold at 25 mg for awhile. Thanks for the offer, but online is fine. I can get a bulk discount anyway on Amazon. That is great your local store carries it. I tried 3 different Walgreen's here. I figured they were discontinuing it because I saw it marked off half price a few months ago. Should have bought them all up then, but I didn't know if it would work or not at that time. I apply it mostly to my inner elbows and back of knees where blood vessels are more prominent and one can get it to the blood quicker. The arms are easier to do if you are at work and cannot get to a bathroom to drop your pants to do behind the knees, lol. It absorbs pretty well with my dry skin and if there is excess I just rub it on the outside of the elbows too and inner biceps until it is all absorbed. It has been working really well for me so I am going to stick with it. Cheri -----Original Message----- Cheri, Are you dosing the same on the Cortaid as you were with capsules? Guest guest
Cheri, With the 12 hour cream, do you apply it every 4 hours in descending dosages? Tina > > Tina, > I never took capsules. Guest guest
My schedule is 3-3.5 hours taken 4 times a day, the first dose on waking. I don't do a bedtime dose. Guest guest
Cheri, Sorry - I am not thinking so clear this morning. Do you start with a higher dose in the morning? Also, does it matter what time you start? I think it was in Dr. 's book where it mentions that there is a window of 6 am to 8 am where your cortisol is at it highest. WOndering if it matters if you apply the first dosage of cream before 6 Am or not??? My dh got the 1.5 oz 12 Hr. Adv. Cortaid at Walmart for $4.50. Is that a good price? Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Tina > > My schedule is 3-3.5 hours taken 4 times a day, the first dose on waking. Guest guest
Well, your cortisol is supposed to be highest in the morning but for many of us it is not due to adrenal fatigue. So, the highest dose should be your morning dose and taper to lower doses as the day progresses. Your first dosage should be whenever you get out of bed and are up for the day. If I wake at 7 but don't actually get out of bed until 8 am, my dose starts at 8 am. That is just me though. Others might do it differently. I would try to keep it in that window of 6-8 or 9 am at the latest if at all possible. Of course, if you wake later than 9 am then take it whenever you do get up The cream sells for around $8-$9 average so if he paid $4.50 that is a great deal. If it works for you this week, he should go back and buy the rest of their stock because if they have it half price, quite likely they are moving out the stock to discontinue. That is what happened here. Cheri -----Original Message----- Cheri, WOndering if it matters if you apply the first dosage of cream before 6 Am or not??? My dh got the 1.5 oz 12 Hr. Adv. Guest guest
You mean naps? No. I had to take naps while on Isocort but not since getting on a good dose of the HC cream. One day a month due to my period I find I need an afternoon nap, but I used to need them daily and no more.
