Guest guest
As he is on no thyroid now, start slow at 12.5mcg in the AM thne in about 3-4 days if that goes well tke a second 12.5mcg. He can increase it abotu every 4 days by 12.5mcg till his temps are normal. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
My husband went to see the VA endo today, what a waste. No I guess it wasn't cause now my husband saw firsthand what I went through myself. But he wouldn't accept the saliva test as a " science " backup. We told him all about the good things with the diabetes part with his feet and his blood sugar going down. He just said don't know what to tell you about that, cause he doesn't think it was the HC. I told him that cortisol regulates blood sugar, he admitted that but still didn't accept results. Wouldn't admit it helped my husbands skin problems. He looked at his blood tests forl thyroid, and said " these are a real good thyroid test, it is doing fine. Brought up his low T3 and high T4, did not accept that either. Didn't accept the rT3 ratio either, even though it came from a reputable endo, Dr. Holtorf. All he said he would not okay his HC prescrilption unless he went off of it and he couldl do an ACTH test and if it warranted HC, he would do it. What a bummer.....guess we will have to buy his HC for awhile until we can figure something else out. In time he may quit the VA completely, they are not there to help you even though their signs say something about you know your body. We gave him the low cortisol symptoms he had, guess that wasn't scientific enough for him. I did have other questions for him, but didn't after the way he acted and showed his mindset. I ask him if he believes if cortisol takes the thyroid hormone to the tissues, he said NO....I said then I suppose you do not believe that the thyroid hormone pools in the blood when the cortisol is low, NO I DO NOT. He had a fit when he found out he was on 20 mg HC, he thought he was only on 2.5mg because that is what my husband said he started out on and got better but he also told the doc he upped it further and got more results, but I think his mind was set and didn't hear anything else I guess..... So it looks like we will be using this forum as our help. He is taking T3 now for his rT3....will up it again tomorrow.....so will be back when I need more advice on his or mine adrenals/thyroid....
