Guest guest
Just be prepared with information for those who ask questions (and you'll get a lot of stares without questions, too, unfortunately). Get a thick skin, too, because there's a lot of ignorance out there. (Case in point: one of the first times out with Malcolm in his helmet and some teenager said to his friends, which I could hear, " That kid's a tard. " Oooh, it was hard for me not to deck that jerk!) The baby shouldn't have too much discomfort if the helmet fits properly, so don't freak out too much about that. I think the helmets are actually kinda cute and my son is definitely still a heartbreaker in his. If life doesn't give you a happy ending, make your own. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ You rock. Guest guest
I was reading the info sent from the moderator. There were many suggestions for repositioning that my doctor didn't give. One of my goals is to increase awareness. I may not effect the world, but I can effect my community, church, family and friends. > > Just be prepared with information for those who ask > questions (and you'll get a lot of stares without > questions, too, unfortunately). Guest guest
Welcome to the group. What kind of band are you getting? My daughter wore a starband for brachy (flat in back) and had very good results. She's 2 years old now and the few months she was in her band were really worth it. It is really not that hard once you get started. You may need to adjust your routine a little to leave time for cleaning the banding and cuddling. You'll need alcohol (70% or 90%) to clean it. And it usually gets stinky at first, even if you clean it well, so you need to get used to that. Taking your baby out at first is usually hard since you'll be nervous, but most people are very nice about it. Plus babies are cute no matter what. If you get a band with a pattern, or use stickers it makes it look less medical. Good luck and let us know how he does. -christine sydney 2 yrs starband grad > > > > Just be prepared with information for those who ask > > questions (and you'll get a lot of stares without > > questions, too, unfortunately).
