Guest guest
, I'm sorry you've had such a rough time so far. My son had a terrible start as well, but here we are at the three week mark and doing much better. I did want to share that I blamed his intense fussiness the past few days on the helmet, but today I saw his first four teeth peeking through his bottom gum! No kidding! The first four all at one time, all on the bottom! I'd fuss too! Could your son be teething as well as adjusting to the band? PS - If you think it's hurting him, I'd take it off and go straight to your ortho/CT. > > Hi everyone, > > We were banded on tuesday and he took to it well during the day. > The first night was not good. Guest guest
Hi , Holy majoley batman 4 teeth at once!!! (Sorry for the batman reference). We have suspected teething on and off over the last few months (bouts of drooling, fussiness and chewing on ANYTHING he can reach) but each session diminishes a few days later. He could be close - nothing is apparent in the gumline (though I will check tonight after bathtime). I took it off last night and he didnt sleep well even without it - so something else might be compounding his fussiness. I actually had to do a night feed last night.... last time we had to do that was his 5 month growth spurt... I put the band back on today for the day - I generally keep him off his back most of the day anyway (old habit from repositioning days and now he is sitting up - so he chooses it a lot). I will try again tonight, but I will take it back off if he starts screaming again.... I would rather have him take longer to adjust than to learn to hate the sight of the band and think its a bad thing. Thanks for the advice! We are still plodding along. > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > We were banded on tuesday and he took to it well during the day. > > The first night was not good. Guest guest
-So what on earth is it with these babies showing the signs of teething months before anything breaks through? 's been drooling up a storm for (honestly)four months and the teeth (all four of them) just poked through the other day! And I kinda feel cheated because when he got his first tooth, I wanted to joke around and say, " Okay, it's time to go brush your tooth! " My first baby got two teeth at once as well. Guess I won't be saying that! Hee hee! acts like he hardly notices his helmet now. He's had it three weeks. So, I'm blaming the fussiness (now) on the teeth. If your little one is fussing w/o the helmet and that's not typical, then it could be something else. And your batman comment really did make me lol! Someone posted a few days ago that they put a layer of foam on top of the matteras and that helped their baby sleep with the helmet. That sounded like a good idea to me, but seems to be back to his usual sleeping pattern (for the most part). Do you live in a hot climate? There have been so many posts about hot weather and bands that now I'm getting worried about it. We live in NC and it does get pretty hot here for several months. > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > We were banded on tuesday and he took to it well during the > day. > > > The first night was not good. Guest guest
My daughter started " teething " at about 4 mo, and got her first tooth at 10.5 mo! She was always drooling and chewing on something, sometimes seemed irritated etc - so I was just waiting for that tooth. I waited a long time :-) My daughter got 4 molars at the same time (16 mo), and it was terrible. I'm glad your little one is past the first 4. -christine sydney 2 yrs starband grad (full set of teeth) > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > > > We were banded on tuesday and he took to it well during the > > day. > > > > The first night was not good. Guest guest
Four molars! That's just not fair! Poor kid. Out of curiosity, how long did she wear her STARband? We just got one for . He was 7 1/2 months old when he got it and they won't give me any idea how long it will take to correct the plagio. I was thinking around six months, but I've heard some say it only took them 8wks or some that have had multiple bands. Confused!! > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > > > > > We were banded on tuesday and he took to it well during the > > > day. > > > > > The first night was not good. Guest guest
Sydney had severe bracy and wore her band from age 5 to 10 mo (yes 10 mo total). It was definitely on the long side. Brachy can take longer to correct because you need quite a bit of growth to compensate for the extra width that develops (bracy is flat in back). Her pics are in the photos section under Our Plagio Babies S/Sydney M. I would say around 3-4 mo is common, but it really depends on severity and how fast your baby grows. How is doing in his new band? When do you go to the ortho for a check? We saw a nice change at her first visit (2 weeks) so that was really encouraging. Good luck with it. -christine sydney 2 yrs starband grad > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > > > > > > > We were banded on tuesday and he took to it well during the > > > > day. > > > > > > The first night was not good.
