Guest guest
I would fight to get my money back but first and foremost I would go to a Cranial Tech and get my child a proper fitting helmet ASAP. You need to get the most correction you can at the youngest age possible. Make an appointment and go for a free consult. That way you will know exactly where you stand. Then, go after Hanger for what they have done wrong. Hopefully they will refund you in full and mabye even pay for your DOC band to correct the issue. I have heard some issues occured with Hanger on LI but you would need to talk to the other moms that this occured with directly for more info. Good Luck and dont give up on correction, DOC and Cranial are wonderful and helped the other families after they were in ill fitting Hanger bands for months as well. Pretty soon after we started Hangar had some personnel changes and that is where it went wrong. They tried several times to adjust a badly fitting helmet before opting to make a new one. We should have been suspicious when it came back within 2 days rather than the 2 weeks it normally takes due to FDA approval. Well the second never really fit and left her with very bad rash on her skin which has taken a long time to clear up. We have now gone to somebody else. We spoke to the local Hangar office who seemed very apologetic and wanted to refund us. However Head Office seems to have nixed this as the lcoal office aren't being so helpful now. They just want us to come back and let them do it again. Of course, we won't - why give them a THIRD go when time is of the essence? Would any reasonable person? So the question is how to pursue Hangar for getting our money back given that the product never worked? We told them yesterday that their option was not good enough and to come back again by Tuesday or we want to speak to someone up the food chain. But where to go if they stick to it? The FDA? Small Claims court? Or raise the issue of why the second helmet suspiciously came back so quickly and whether they skipped the FDA protocol (which may make them give back our money pretty quick).Any advice/help really appreciated, and sorry for the long post! Guest guest
- I have a few questions... Did they rescan or cast you for the 2nd band? 2 days is fast... but not impossible... if it was a scan they could have sent it electronically. If they did not rescan or recast then of course the band would never fit correctly - the 1st one didn't either! In which case you could fight on those grounds. I am sorry you are having problems with fit - we had a hanger and also had fit issues, but they were able to get it right after a few adjustments. Bottom line, if you are not confident in going to Hanger than don't. I don't know the protocol to getting a refund... just start making phone calls or writing letters. And do what you need to do to get a band for your daughter... I'm not sure where you are... can you get to another provider? If so speak with them about their experience, etc. That is what REALLY matters when it comes to banding!!!!
