Guest guest
Forum folks. If you've been successful on your thyroid/adrenal program and especially if you've had Hashi's I would love your two cents. I was diagnosed with Hashi's this past fall (VERY high TPO) and after consulting with Dr. Lowe decided to start on Armour Thyroid. After being on 120mg Armour for three weeks I retested. As my TPO was still extremely high I increased my Armour dose to 150mg. At that point I started doing Dr. Rind's averaged daily temps and found them to be all over the place. I had other signs and symptoms of adrenal deficit as well so I added hydrocortisone-dosing according to instructions on STTM. I did not decrease my Armour when I started cortisol, but decided to go slowly and watch for any signs of thyroid hormone dump. Got up to 20mg HC with no problem. Now today- my sixth day at the 20mg dose- my temp has gone up suddenly and I've felt hyper all day with a pulse between 80 and 90 for most of the day. (That's high for me!) So here's the question...Do I assume that this is thyroid dump and decrease/drop my Armour temporarily? (That's what my gut says). On the other hand, how can I be sure that this isn't just another Hashis attack causing hyper symptoms from thyroid tissue destruction/hormone leakage? My last antibody test (at 120mg Armour) was just over three weeks ago and clearly the Armour hadn't slowed down the autoimmune attack at that point. I really want to get the antibodies down. Any thoughts from your experience?? many thanks,

It's been shown to reduce autoantibodes, in Hashi's at least (perhaps other autoimmmunities as well). JIm

Guest guest
Have you had this type of thing happen before? It sounds like a thyroid dump to me, but if you periodically have spells like this associated with your Hashis then maybe not. I don't know enough on that to say. I'm sure Val will have some idea. Also, did you do any testing of your cortisol levels before starting tthe HC? It is always best to do that so you can be sure what you are dealing with. If you have high cortisol, you don't want to add more on top of it. :-) Rie A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Guest guest
I ewwould lower the thyrodi for now. Temps over 99 warrant lowering it until they come down. Going hyper is counter productive when you have adernal fatigue as it will only stress the adrenals and this shuts off th elfow of thyroid to the cells anyway so there is little choice abotu whqat needs to be done. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
