Guest guest
Try these to start with. Rie TSH * Free T3 (stress the free) * Free T4 (stress the free) * RT3 * 24 hour cortisol salivia test * Ferratin (this is iron storage, you need this test instead of the RBC panel) ACTH (this one is more than a blood test) DHEA (this one is usually done with the salvia test) Vit. D * Thyroid Antiboidies ( anti-TPO and TgAb BOTH!) estrogen proestrogen testosterone * B-12 Aldosterone renin * folic acid Potassium sodium A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Guest guest
Same question for me. I'll be off all hormones 2 weeks this Friday, so I can do the 2 tube saliva test. Did 4 tube yr ago. What else? Same list as I see here? BTW, thanks to all who've responded. I don't always have the energy or focus to write back, and I didn't see some responses til recently..still learning this process. I've collected your suggestions specific to me into a word doc. The list below looks like everything several of you (Val, Cherie, Grandma?, Jim, etc) suggested I have done this second go round for saliva testing. Haven't posted last yrs results as I haven't gotten them from the doc yet, but I know that a year ago, I could function maybe 4-6 hrs a day, and I started the day with NO adrenal function, it peaked in the afternoon. Doc had me on only 5 mg Armour later in the day so that it wouldn't suppress the adrenal function..built up to 90mg over 6-7 mos. then, another crash in the fall, almost exactly a yr after the first one. I've been off Dr. 's Ad rebuilder and herbal ~2 wks, using salt.C.B100 and am still feeling better than before. Having trouble in the night again-3 mights now waking 3-4am, wired, anxious, yoga breathing doesn't help. took ascription & calcium, fell asleep 5ish... not fun.. then I'm awake and alert at 6:30am-never in my life have I been a morning person, so that's nice. I do the salt combo about 7am, late morning when I start to droop, afternoon, and when I get home at night. If I don't feel bad, I only do am & afternoon or evening. My fogginess, memory, focus and visual issues are better, as is my mood.--several of you said this would happen. I love feeling more optimistic and hopeful. Stopped strenous exercise (weight training & power yoga), only walking 30-45 min mornings, pilates 2x a week. Stopped the Fat and Carb Blockers, and my body fat is going up, muscles getting doughy again, but I " m using Arbonne progesterone cream, 1 pump a day. I'm reading this list, the files, etc every day.... wondering how long the salt will work. No adverse affects re: swelling/peeing/thirst after 1st 3 days. Anxious to start the cortisone and shift my schedule. If I wait for test results it will be another month or 2. ZRT takes so long... Is there anything I can do other than what I'm already doing? Dr. 's Stress Formula Wellbutrin Armour 90mg in the afternoon pantothenic acid, folic acid, L Glutamine for gums and digestion Chromium/vanadium for blood sugar Magnesium, Selenium, calcium, iorodal, CLA, flax, even primrose-1000mg/day each Butcher's broom caps & topical Birchtree oil (for circulation re: compromised vein in left thigh down leg- trying to avoid a phlebectomy and this is making a huge difference! much less bulging and pain. Can't do horse chestnut re heart racing) psyllium fiber 3 T. a day healthy diet with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and yes- even protein....had to give up being vegetarian. Thanks again for your help... I want to get the right tests, get the results and move forward.... > > Try these to start with. > > Rie > > TSH > * Free T3 (stress the free) > * Free T4 (stress the free) > * RT3 > * 24 hour cortisol salivia test > * Ferratin (this is iron storage, you need this test instead of the RBC > panel) > ACTH (this one is more than a blood test) > DHEA (this one is usually done with the salvia test) > Vit. Smaller doses are less stress to your adrenals and you get better T3 coverage throughout the entire day. I would recommend 30 mg before breakfast, in the afternoon, and at bedtime.
