Guest guest
Don't let this guy stress you out too much. Forget him and find a new doctor. This one obviously doesn't have a usable brain. Personally, I'd ignore anything he told me or do the exact opposite as that would have a higher chance of working than anything he tells you. Rie A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Guest guest
ok admist all the crap I heard from my doctor today I was able to get him to run an A.M. Cortisol test and check my t4 and tsh. He said my hemoglobin was fine the last time I came in and there was no reason to check my ferritin because it didn't matter. I had to fight for copies of my labs but I got the previous ones. Here are the numbers: Sept 18, 2007 WBC Range 4.1-10.9 Sept 18 7.6 Nov 14 8.6 Granulocytes 39.4-74.6 67.5 73 Lymphocytes 13.7-47.5 28.9 24.2 MID Cells 1.8-21.5 3.6 2.8 RBC 3.6-5.4 4.63 4.71 Hemoglobin 11-16 12.8 13 Hematocrit 32.4-47.2 36.3 38.4 MCV 80-100 78.4 81.5 MCH 26-34 27.6 27.6 MCHC 32.3-35.1 35.3 33.9 RDW 10-5-15-8 15 17 Platelets 131-409 227 229 TSH .47-4.68 1.49 .48 Free T4 .7-1.8 .6 1.0 T3 Ran 1st time on 11/14/07 230-420 314. I did order some Westhroid from online and it did come in the mail today when I got home. I think someone above knew I was having this bad day and decided to give me a pat on the back ;D After the doctor gave me a months supply of samples of synthroid and Effexor I get home to see the Westhroid. Now Cansomeone guide me in the right direction on how to switch from Synthroid to Westhroid and whether or not I should follow his advice and switch from LExapro to Effexor? Guest guest
I would just get another doctor. this one sounds useless. My RBC panel was " fine " last time too, but my ferratin was 14. Iron deficiency may not show up in the other panel until the storage (ferratin) is depleted, but optimally it should be at least 70. As far as copies of your lab results go, they are your property. You or your insurance company(ie you) paid for them and they are yours. You have a legal right to them. Period end of sentence. Personally, I wouldn't change over to effexor if the lexapro isn't giving you problmes right now. Once you get everything straightened out hopefully you'll be able to go off of it. I would say your first step in getting well is to fire this doctor and find a new one. i don't imagine you'll find one that would be much worse.... Guest guest
I have great success improving my poor quality sleep with Surmontil also known as Rhotrimine. Its generic name is Trimiprimine but the generic version is almost worthless. It is the ONLY antidepressant that does NOT lower REM sleep. That may be why it helps so much. Hensley <>< 8-) 11a. Re: Furious! Posted by: " jasrich " jasrich@... jasrich Wed Feb 6, 2008 2:01 pm (PST) I have been on Lexapro and Effexor and I can recommend neither, but, if someone was holding a gun to my head and forcing me to take one I would take the Lexapro. I literally tripped like I was on LSD when I took Effexor (not that I would know what that actually feels like but I've heard ). It was evil and I couldn't wait to get off of it but when I quit it I didn't sleep for two days and needed benzos to reduce that harsh afterlash. If you're used to the Lexapro I would stick with it. It did nothing for me but make me more anxious, sweaty, nauseous and more sleepless, but after trying four different SSRIs, I've sort of come to think that seritonin is not my problem - at least not one that can be addressed by those SSRIs. My sisters swear by it though. Watch out for Effexor.
