Guest guest
Hi Val, can you look at the messages from when the thread began?--they are all still there together. All the info is there and it's sorta complicated and long to explain. BP is not there though. I don't know what that is. Thanks! Theda > > I am thinking your high HC dose is giving you r problems. Guest guest
OK when I went back & looked it seems liek this is inflammation or allergy type symptoms. That is most lioekly adernal, btu you may be constantly stressing them wiht an allergen. Have you tested for allergies? Did you start getting these symtoms back when you changed to Cytomel? The docs that put you on the high dose Pred before, did they ever give you a diagnosis? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Thanks for looking back, Val! That does make alot of sense because I definitely have a lot of inflammation. It has been happening for years but almost always only when it is cold, i.e., in the winter. Rashes, hives, weird skin infections, and my skin hurts, that is, is very sensitive and even my clothes hurt to wear. Another thing that happens is that my lips have a burning sensation when I get salt on them and my skin, especially on my face, is very dry and raw. I have been tested for allergies many times (the first time when I was about six years old) but no real allergies were ever found only lots of 'sensitivities' to many foods. I try to avoid those. No, Cytomel did not , as far as I can tell, cause any of the symptoms: but I am not feeling at all better as I had hoped. This time the symptoms began in September and have gotten steadily worse and added on more symptoms. No, the doctor that almost gave me adrenal collapse (this was three years ago) did not really give me a diagnosis--she said it was inflammation, and used a fancy word for 'rash'. I had a very severe, full-body rash at the time, even on the top of my head. The doc started me out on I think 12 mgs of Pred., which did not even touch the rash. I ended up at 60 mgs of Pred a day for about 2 months before the rash and all the other symptoms finally went away. That was how I found STTM and you-- I was doing research on the internet (to see why I felt so wonderful on the Pred and all my symptoms had disappeared-- Of course part of this was Pred euphoria.) But it did lead me to realize that I had AI. I found STTM and you advised me to get off the massive doses of Pred ASAP which I did. I was diagnosed hypo-T when I was 17, but the meds (syn-crap)never worked. Later I tried Armour and it would work only up to a point because of no adrenal support and not a large enough dose--I think the most the docs ever had me on was 2 gr and I need at least 5 - 6 gr. I've been on Pred and anti-B's numerous times in the last ten years because of the skin stuff--Twice in two years I was told by docs that I had been bitten by a Brown Recluse spider, but now I am pretty sure that it really was some sort of auto-immune / histimine reaction to AI/ Hypo-T problems. What do you think I could try, Val? Keep on with the Cytomel switch-over? Or go back to the Thyroid-S? Raise or lower the HC? I just have no idea what to do now and I sure have no clue why this happens in the winter and not when it's warm? Stress? I don't vary my diet that much between the seasons, the only thing is I eat a little more fruit in the summer. It's just so weird and confusing and scary. Thanks for your time, you are appreciated!
