Guest guest
's exit pictures were like that, I was thinking if you hate this so much just wait till the casting lol. He was aso worse at his exit cast than his initial (if that is even possible). Though then again 2 wks before at his 1 yr checkup he through a FIT when they measured his head (as if he hadnt had his head measured before, they measured it every visit at CT and he never gave them a problem) yet was fine for his shots, who knows with this little guy. Yesterday we took his sister fir her checkup and he started clinging and fussing as soon as we walked down the hall. The only time I have had a child behave like that at the peds office was my 2nd when she was 4 and we went in for a follow up but she had reason, the follow up was from a bad infection the week before where they had had to prick her finger, draw blood and give her a shot of rocephin. This little guy is only 15 mo and aside from immunizations (which he takes quite well) he hasnt had an even remotely bad time at the peds office. some kids, you just dont know what they are thinking lol On Jan 29, 2008 11:03 AM, <sarahhollis@...> wrote: Hi Katrin,I'm glad you guys had a good visit! I'm glad you went for the free eval and I hope you're able to get a script from your ped so you can get the ball rolling faster, esp since the neuro is antibanding. If your ped won't write it I'd at least change to a different specialist. At 17mm that would put Elijah in the severe category, so it's definitely better to get him banded ASAP. He's nice and young, so you should see some quick correction. Good luck and keep me posted! Guest guest
Not to scare you but 17mm is severe. You should go ahead and get the band and do it sooner rather than later. I had a 15 mm difference in my son and due to his young age of 4 months when banded we were able to see almost total correction in 9 weeks. Also, in my opinion, the summer is coming and if you could get in the band early February mabye you could be out of it by April May just in time for the nice weather. I would forgo waiting for insurance get to the ped for an immediate appointment and schedule your casting. Insurance might fight you and you do not have time to waist. You can fight them later like the majority of us. Also , think, if they were to deny you would you not band. Of course you will anyway. Just consider the 3000 dollars an investment in his future. Then fight for the money back.. I am currently getting 1500 from United Healthcare and fighting with them for 80% instead of 50% but I banded before they got the paperwork or a pre approval. Just one mothers opinion. I may sound a bit tough but tough love by other mothers on this board got me to a nice round headed son and I was wishy washy in the beginning but I so made the correct choice for him. Guest guest
Thanks Tammy, After reading the stats I now realize that it is severe. I pretty much already know my coverage and the care coordinator already told me that he qualifies due to his numbers. Also they never bill BCBS because they pay me and not them since they are out of network. I got my prescription today and will fax it to them tomm from work and will go from there.
