Guest guest
Well that nixes it. I am not coming to Australia if the size 16's have a 30 inch waist there. And it's such a pretty country too. Size 16's have probably a 32-36 inch waist here. They vary so much. After I responded i was reading some other support group messages (I have lots of browing time) and saw on OSSG a woman who claimed she got into a size 6 weighing 150 pounds! I suppose it is possible but it would look like sausage casing to me. I only weigh once a week. Because my whole day depends on the number i get. If I get a " bad " number it bums me out for hours. Isn't that sad that I let myself do this to myself. I am hoping to become more objective about this in the future.
Guest guest
I get so confused with the size thing. The dress sizes in the US is just slightly different to ours e.g. if you are a size 24 in the UK you will get into a 22 in the US. What happens in Australia? I love the US as I can always kid myself that I have gone down a size. Also, the clothes seem to be cut more generously. BTW, even when I was skinny, I never had a 30' waist. Guest guest
If I get to 143 lbs, I have a 28 " waist or at least I did when I was 22 and before I had three ginormous kids, 9lb, 10lb and 11lb (the last by caesarean). Yes our sizes are different from the US. If they are a size 10, then we are a size 12. But cuts of cloth are getting generous over here as well because in the shops a size 12 is like my size 16 jeans. All my size 16 jeans are at least 10-15 years old though. Still in style. Guest guest
YES, Jessie you are so right. I have a pair of American size 16's and they claim a 36 inch waist. I have always wondered about that. Mum got them 20 years ago when she went to the states. I thought they had made a mistake. A size 16 is a 30 " waist here. So a size 10 is a 24 inch waist. It goes down in increments of two inches per size ie 30 inch = size 16 28 = size 14 26 = size 12 24 = size 10 Regards At 10:01 AM 14/04/1999 -0700, you wrote: > > >Well that nixes it.
