Guest guest
Hi there- It is normal to have some red spots at first, as long as they disappear or almost disappear within an hour. You want to check with your orthotist to see what exactly you should look for and in what areas, and to what degree of redness before being concerned. Some of the red you see could be just heat rash, but your ortho will be able to tell you more about that. Hopefully he'll continue to adjust well to the band. Just dress him really lightly until his body temp adjusts to having the band on all the time. Good luck! Please keep us posted on his progress. Guest guest
If the redness fades it is okay, but if it doesn't fade or gets worse as he wears the band more it probably needs to be adjusted. A few adjustments in the beginning are pretty normal. -christine sydney 2 yrs starband grad > > Hi! > > I've pretty much just watched on this board, only posted once...but > here I am - we just picked up the starband for my 6 1/2 mos old > Ethan...he wore it for just 1/2 hour and then was ready for his nap > but is already alittle red around the front and sides of his > head...I'm assuming this normal but do you have any suggestions for > helping this out? any other pointers and hints for a new guy?? poor > thing, I feel so bad for him even though he seems to not even notice > it so far... > > Thanks!! >
