Guest guest
I have been on 10 pellets of isocort for over 2 months. From the start you said I would need HC, I finally convinced my doc. So my question is what is the best way to transition in your opinion. I got 5.0mg (allowed up to 30mg/day)of hydrocortisone (USP mineralized .9gm), in capsules, from compounding pharmacist(next time may request Cortef, not sure of the difference, I know it is cheaper). I know that isocort is not as potent. I thought I would start with the one 5mg hydrocortisone in the am and gently add every few days working up to the 20 mg, ( maybe dose it 10, 5, 5). Should I still use isocort as I switch or just stick with HC? Thanks!!
Guest guest
Count each Isocort pellet as 2.5mg HC and switch out ONE dose at a time, first the AM dose, then wait 3-4 days then swith otu the next dose using your usual Isocort dosing the rest of these days till you are all on HC -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
