Guest guest
No, from what I know. Licorice root contains a chemical (Glycyrrhizin) that shows down conversion of cortisol into cortisone, thus extendind it's lifetime in the blood. But the same chemical also can cause high blood pressure, so at least some say it should be avoided if you have high blood pressure (although since sea salt seems to be able to *lower* high blood pressure - " TAKE THAT, ANTI- SALT PEOPLE! (and start doing studies on *why*..) I ran into a page about the " harzards " of it (I think it was high BP) and that looked like it explained it quite well and came to conclusion that it is safe for something like 97% of the population. see: http://pubs.acs.org/cen/whatstuff/stuff/8032licorice.html Jim > Does licorice root have cortisol in it??? Guest guest
Licorice root has no cortis in it, but it prevents the cortisl YOU have in your body from breaking down as quickly, thuis extending the active life of your own cortiosl. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
