we did it ourselves. For us it came down to a couple reasons, 1) we would have had to leave it overnight in Charlotte (2 hrs away) to get someone else to decorate it with acrylics, etc 2) we didnt want to use something that wasnt non toxic (air brushing) and 3) we wanted to be able to frequently change it. I ended up learning a lot about paints, etc in the process even though I only painted it about 3 times. But I did also decoupage it. I didnt get a chance to try fabric but did try tissue paper (recommended by another parent on teh CT boards but turned out horribly for me but I think it was b/c I hadnt gotten the hang of it), napkins (couldnt find camo tissue), and wrapping paper. I also not only used stickers (both clear and paper, I figured out the secret to getting paper stickers off) but also made my own stickers using avery printable sticker paper. Itw as a lot of fun and do miss decorating.

I kept a log of s helmets and my adventures in learning to decorate at www.joeysmanicmelon.blogspot.com

We are looking for advice on how to get our son's band decorated. Did you do it yourself, or have someone do it for you? If you did it yourself, can you advise what kinds or paint you used? Any other tips/suggestions would be appreciated.
