Guest guest
Val, you've looked at my test results from a yr ago, and I've just sent another saliva test off. Sorry this is long. Trying to cram it all in one email hopefully it will take less of your time... You suggested that I have ferritin and aldosterone tested and look at hormone results when I get the test back in 4-6 weeks before trying HC or whatever might be needed. The salt+C+b100 has made a huge difference in how I feel. However, the horrible 3-5am heart pounding, wired, wake like in a terror nightmare is happening again.... I'm on Armour. About a week or so ago, increased from 90- 112mg and am taking it in 3 dscreasing amts sublingually as you suggested. Still on Wellbutrin 150 SR am and pm, and Arbonne progesterone cream 1/2-1 pump a day. NOT goign back on Dr. 's adrenal rebuilders, but am still on the stress formula.. more like a good vitamin but 10x as much $. I'm probably drinking at least 1-2t of salt daily, in 1/4 t doses, as I need it/start to lose energy/focus. Today, I was exhausted after not sleeping, and my right eye just wouln't focus on the computer screen. It's hard to be productive, and if I am in the office for 8 hours, then I'm no good for anything when I get home... last night I was so tired, I felt drugged, and had a craving- which is NOT like me- I made a chocolate cake at 11pm... talk about insane... and ate 2 servings. If I don't have a few glasses of wine and get in bed before 11pm, then I get my second wind and just can't wind down... I hate feeling this way... although the cake was low fat, low sugar, and warm, moist and delicious... wish you and everyone had been here for a midnight dessert... LOL.. sorry. Have to laugh or I'd scream. I've been this way all my life, but the feeling wired at night is getting worse, after getting better when I first started the salt and stopped Dr. W Adrenal REbuilder. My thyroid labs a month ago looked like I wasn't even taking the Armour and doc said something about wondering if I was RT3. I've asked for those results 3 x now, and still don't have them in my hands, so I have an appt with her next Tues to talk about all of this and to ask for the ferritin adn aldosterone tests you suggested- they were almost $300 on line! I need insurance to pay if they will. The saliva test will have all the hormones and cortisol. What else can I do? I feel like a pest, but there has to be something other than wait for 6 more weeks. This is my busiest time at work, from now til June adn I'm having to be very, very careful to monitor my stress and energy level.....and I'm travelling out of the country for 10 days in March... feeling nervous. The last time I went on a 2 week trip, I crashed and couldn't get out of bed on the 7th day...That was before any tests or Armour, etc... Please help..... thanks again, . waking avg difference 2/8/2008 97.5 98.30 0 2/9/2008 97.9 97.87 0.43 2/10//08 97.1 98.00 -0.13 2/11/2008 97.8 97.37 0.63 2/12/2008 - 98.20 -0.83 2/13/2008 98.37 -0.17 2/14/2008 98.30 0.07 2/15/2008 saliva test 2/17/2008 results from a yr ago. Guest guest
Unfortunately to get the proper testing done you need to wait until it is done to start treatment or it will mean nothing. You could start some estrogen. DHEA if you are low. I do not think either of those would mess up cortisol or ACTH testing. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
So, Val, I've mailed the Saliva test for cortisol levels, Dhea and hormones. Now I need Aldosterone and ferritin, right? What is ACTH (I mean, I read adrenocorticol... etc) but is it another test I'll need? Where can I read about doseage for DHEA? I'm on progesterone. Do I need estrogen as well? I didn't tolerate it well last time....gained 25 lbs in 2 weeks... and felt like a pregnant cow... nothing like being really pregnant... when I actually felt pretty good after the nausea, but my daughter will be 32 tomorrow, so that was a long time ago. Thanks again... ************** Re: for Val, not sure I can wait for test results, more night panic, heart pounding Unfortunately to get the proper testing done you need to wait until it is done to start treatment or it will mean nothing. Guest guest
ACTH is the hormone produced by the pituitary gland that tells th adrenals to make more cortisol. If t is low, then that can cause low cortisl when there is nothign wrong with the adrenals. It is also not something that is curable and means cortiosl replacement for life. If ACTH is high or normal thnen it means low cortils is caused by the adrenlas not able to make enough which may be curable wiht treatment. Estrogen is not what goes hgh when you are PG, Progesterone is! If it caused boating it was too much and susually the firt sogn of too much estrogen is painful breasts, and then you need to either incr4ease progesterine or lower the estrogwen deoending oin if both were low or not. If estrogen is not low you do not need to take more to be abe to take DHEA. Only in low estrogen women do they need to take it to tolerate DHEA well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
