Guest guest
Hi, well since you asked, this is what Dr. told me. sagb points:1)if the doctor doesn't like the first place he puts it in the operation, he can just cut afew stitches and reposition it.Lap=has to break it and start over. $2,000.00 gone. 2)sagb is very soft on all parts that touch the stomach. Lap has a very rigid spot that over time can hurt the stomach. 3)When fully inflated, the sagb makes alot smaller opening. Some people with the lap fully inflated don't get a small enough restriction. 4)The sagb when fully inflated needs no pressure on the example suringe to keep it inflated. The lap did which meant that there was constant pressure on it's " plastic " which could make it burst easier. 5)I think that I was told that the sagb has been around longer, too. 6)The sagb port it shorter which is better for being under the skin. 7)Since the lap is harder, it can be more uncomfortable. I wasn't going to post this but you'll asked. Anyway, hope all is well with you'll. Callie
Guest guest
I'd say your doctor was " selling " you his product!! Guest guest
Hi All I've said it before and I'll say it again, isn't it interesting how each doctor differs in his/her opinion ... My surgeon favours the LapBand because he has had a minute proportion of erosion of the stomach with the SAGB (three out of 500). He has had no such problems with the LapBand after upwards of 700 operations. He did say, however, that he has had instances of slipping with the LapBand but that problem is a lot less serious and easily rectified. I think each doctor is entitled to his or her opinion and so is each patient and that no one band is 'better' than another. I think it is all down to 'you pays your money, you takes your choice'.
