Guest guest
So I am on vacation and on day 3 of wearing the helmet. My son's left eye is smooshed and his left ear is covered partially. Anyhow, I emailed my orthotist but have not heard back. Should he continue wearing the helmet? Is he not getting any correcting benefits from it since it is not fitting correctly? I thought it was still working however it needs to be reshaped next adjustment period? Hum, whats everyone thoughts? Guest guest
I would say it's okay. It's normal to have some adjustments the first week or so to get it just right. They shaved around my son's forehead and ears the first day, and then they had to shave some more from his ear at our one-week check. They also told me it was normal for it to shift and to resist the urge to keep playing with it to try to fix it. As your son's head grows, it should fill in the open spaces and become more snug. It's not common practice to need to rescan/cast (most helmets do fit properly), so I would give it another week or so after the next adjustment when you get back and see how things are at that point. Good luck! Jake-18m (tort resolved/rt plagio/DocBand 7 weeks) > > > > - I have a few questions...
