Guest guest
Margery, thanks. My levels got too high after iron IVs. My last ferritin was over 500. I plan to retest next week to see if it has come down. I'm just wondering how the high iron impacts T3 and temps. Sherry > > > > Has anyone here had high ferritin and high iron levels? Guest guest
Did u have any side effects from that high of iron? Just started supplementing or does that only happen with IV iron?Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryDate: Mon, 03 May 2010 03:10:53 -0000To: <RT3_T3 >Subject: Re: High iron/ferritin symptoms Previously low iron levels going too high after iron IVs may indicate a problem other than low iron. Inflammation can cause falsely high ferritin test results. Sorry, I do not know how HIGH iron impacts t3 and temps as I have spent half my life battling LOW iron.High iron can be brought down immediately by donating blood.> > >> > > Has anyone here had high ferritin and high iron levels? Guest guest
No obvious symptoms. After the first IV, I felt wonderful. After the second, I was irritable. I figured out pretty quickly that after the iron came up I HAD to drop HC way back. After the third IV, I felt tired and sleepy. But generally, I haven't noticed problems, in fact the good response has outweighed anything else. But I've still had trouble getting temps stable and up. However, since I wrote this post initially, it seems as if too HC was causing unstable and lower temps. I know that sounds contrary to advice but when I went down on HC temps stabilized and increased. 3 times now. Sherry > > > > > > > > Has anyone here had high ferritin and high iron levels? Could well be, apparently it is very hard to tell the difference between high and low cortisol symptoms. Nick
