Should it be after the 12 weeks treatment, or should it be maybe sometime during the treatment? When you go onto T3 only the RT3 will drop, you are starving it out by taking away the T4 it's made from. The levels in the blood drop a long time before the receptors clear. For these reasons there seems no point in rechecking RT3. The tests which are potentially useful are a FT4 after a month or so to check that T4 levels are dropping, they should be below range by then. If you are having trouble adjusting T3 dose by symptoms, temperature, and pulse then a FT3 test can be useful, you won't be able to use it to guide you on dose changes though as it all happens too fast to do it other than by symptoms. Good luck on the journey Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
