Guest guest
When I was doing repo, I rolled up a receiving blanket and placed it under his side from the shoulders down his back and propped him slightly on his side which encouraged him to look to the other side. For example, if he had right back plagio, I put the rolled up receiving blanket under him on the right side so he would look left. I only put it from the shoulders down. I was afraid to put it under his head in case he turned his face into it at night. This helped to keep him looking in the direction I wanted at night. Also, you can try putting toys on the side you want him to look. During the day I would roll up a little washcloth and when ever he was in a carrier, carseat, bouncy, I would put it under the flat spot to relieve the pressure. This worked well. I mentioned in another email that I did repo for 4 months and then ended up getting the Docband anyways. Also from aggressive repo, I created a very small flat spot on the other side, barely noticeable, but you may want to ask your doctor how to avoid this. Im driving myself crazy over this! Do they make any products to aide with rounding out his flat spot? Thanks in advance. Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search. Guest guest
My son also has tort. I used the postioner that was sold at babiesrus. He would only use it for a little while at night. I put toys like the aquatic sleep soother on the other side of the crib. Also I put him in the crib where the side he had a hard time turning was at the door so he would be encouraged to look that way because I came from that side. Also sacral cranial therapy has really worked for us. I am also doing normal PT. I love the SCT. It has helped in so many ways. He just got his starband as his 5 months. Good luck I hope this helped > My son has torticollis and is currently in PT....He has very mild > flattening on the right side of his head, and I was told to keep > repositioning him...only problem is, at night he prefers to turn his > head constantly onto the flat spot no matter how many times I turn it > back...Anyone have any tips on how to keep his head straight??
