Guest guest
Hi I purchased a single bed size memory foam mattress and cut it to fit the cot. I'm in Australia and it did cost A$150-00 but it was worth every cent! My daughter is just 12 months and she has never rolled in her helmet while asleep.... it's sooo nice to see her helmet sink into it - rather than the helmet sitting wonky and digging into her face near her ear. I bought the medium thickness which is 6cm (2 1/2 inches) as I wasnt sure which one to get - and its been 5 weeks with it and I wouldnt go back to putting her on a normal cot mattress without the memory foam again! Hope this helps =o] Mum to Breanna Banded for 11 weeks & 1 day Right Tort from birth & plagio Memory Foam Did anyone have any success with memory foam helping to ease pressure of their child's head at night? What thickness is recommended? I definitely don't want my son to suffocate!!!Thanks,

Guest guest
I just bought the egg crates that you used in college and flipped it over to the flat side. That has been working for my son, he is still sleeping through the night. estasconfuso <estasconfuso@...> wrote: Which brand? Guest guest
I would not personally stack them the 1 1/2 is great and enough for the baby. This is not the storybook the prince and the pea!!!!! He will have plenty with the regular 1 1/2. I bought a queen size and cut it to fit the crib and also one to fit under the pack and play sheet so when we are traveling or in my basement and he is in the pack and play, I feel good about that too! Good luck. Tammy Mother to graduate 12/31/07 in DOC band from 4 months to 6 1/2 months, he is great, head is looking even better with time! I didn't realize the differences in the sizes (loft). What are you using and is it really better to get the higher one? I was planning on picking up the 1.5 inch. Also, can I stack them one on top of the other to get to three inches? Is that advisable or not? Thanks for your help! As always, this group is the best. Kim Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
Thanks Molly! I never thought of replacing their whole mattress with the memory foam as well. Guest guest
Hi Thanks for the suggestions- so am wondering if you still continue to use the foam after your baby started wearing the helmet? Excuse my not knowing- but wouldn't the helmet or band serve the same purpose- so you would no longer need it? Thanks! > > Hi : > Based upon advice received here (thank goodness!), we did the thing, and it will help your kiddos get comfortable with the helmets as well, so leave the foam on! We bought a foam topper at Target and cut it to fit- the twin was $60, but they have great deals now on the back to college stuff, so you may find it cheaper. So far, it has been a fairly painless couple of months, and we are in South Florida where it is too hot! Guest guest
Hi : Actually, I think that the foam helps him sleep with the helmet, since the helmet changes the angle at which his head sits on the mattress- the foam allows the bed to contour to such a big & heavy load (our boy is also an enormous 23 pounds at 7 months). We plan to keep the foam on- it definitely Darling Middle School Science ext. 413 darlingd@... ________________________________ From: Plagiocephaly on behalf of cbrownie15 Sent: Thu 8/7/2008 8:30 PM Plagiocephaly Subject: Re: Memory Foam Hi Thanks for the suggestions- so am wondering if you still continue to use the foam after your baby started wearing the helmet?
