Hi Val and Nick,

My brother just got labs back and I told him that I would check with y'all and

see if these limited labs could pinpoint anything. His Dr. sounds like the

typical main stream med guy. He's been on Levoxyl for about 3-4 years. A few

years back I noticed that he was starting to look sickly and I questioned him

about hypo symptoms since I had already started having thyroid issues. He had

gained alot of weight, looked very swollen, had a greyish color to him(looked

dead to me- age 46) and he had no hair on his legs. I asked him to please get

his thyroid checked and his TSH came back at >400. Right away they put him on

Levoxyl (currently taking 175mcg. His Dr. just re-tested his labs but only

ordered the TSH, Total T4 and Total T3. I wanted to see if you could decipher

anything from these results where I can possibly persuade him or his Doc to

order the Free's and RT3. He's a bit stubborn when it comes to his current

treatment but if I had answers/explanation I could possibly get him to change

Docs or at least listen to me.

TSH 1.67 (.450-4.5)

Total T3 98 (76-181)

Total T4 12.6 (4.5-12.5)

His B-12 is good, his Vit D is low (19) and they did not test ferritin.

Thanks in advance,

Cindy
