Guest guest
I have the same problem as Ellen, and I tried taking T3 only also, but it left me feeling more tired, more wrung out, and freezing cold, plus I got sick all the time. Now I am trying Armour mixed with T3 but my Reverse T3 has shot way up again, and I still have fatigue. I am also trying time release HC at 7.5 mg., so maybe I need to increase the HC when I drop the T4. I just don't know, and when I ask the doctor here at Holtorf in Northern Cal. he is like, "we can try that." I don't want to "try", I want him to tell me what to do to get balanced! I have read on other forums that stopping T4 completely is not good for you, and that Reverse T3 is naturally occurring anyway. ly, I just don't know what or who to believe anymore. It is all so frustrating! To: RT3_T3 Sent: Thu, April 22, 2010 6:18:08 AMSubject: Re: RT3 and ramping up Ellen,If you have RT3 dominance you will want to get off of NT completely. Have you done a cortisol saliva test and have you had your ferritin tested. Those are two things that could cause problems on thyroid meds. If you have those tests I suggest you post the results so the moderators can help you.I would suggest you read Nick's RT3 website at: http://thyroid-rt3.comThere is a lot of good info there and it's a good place to start.--Steph>> Hello, > > I need some input plzzz. I have been going to the Holtorf Medical Group here in Northern California. I have RT3, and originally, I was on 6 Grains of NT, over about a 5 month period my doctor has reduced my NT and added, slow release T3. My last visit ,April 1st, I was put on 75 mg of T3 and 2 Grain NT, after two weeks I called for him to up it to 100 mgs, thankfully he did. Guest guest
oh my goodness! i have a similiar situation where the doctor is like, well we can try that.. i dont want to try anything, i want to know for sure. i agree this is sooo frustrating. i just quit armour but i think i was better on it.. my t4 is way up. i backed off of armour and started at 50cg of t4 and slowly going up on t3. i dont know if i should just take t4 completely out of the equation or what. i agree this is all soo frustrating! It is all so frustrating! Yes, " some " T3 is normal, it's when the ratio or FT3 to RT3 sinks too low that problems arise. T3 only does not appear to cause any problems, I am far better on that than I was on Armour etc. You say about 7,5 of SRHC, is that the total daily dose?? if so than that's a problem, it's enough to upset your own production but not enough to replace it and can lead to a reduction in available cortisol. The adrenal group can tell you more about that one http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ Their FAQ Web site is here http://faqhelp.webs.com/ The chances are that if you can't feel well on T3 " something is missing " and unless you can identify and fix it then you won't feel well on anything, The usual culprits are:- Cortisol, temperature stability is a good marker Ferritin, 70 to 90 is the target area Vitamin D, 50 is the minimum Vitamin B12, can't remember the target Sex hormones, if they are too low or out of ratio then lots of strange things happen Locating and fixing the missing piece will hopefully give you the breakthrough.
