Guest guest
Any thoughts on my situation would be really appreciated! I had high RT3 - 0.99 (0.14 - 0.54) So I changed from Armour thyroid to Cytomel - adjusted the dose by symptoms and ended up at 150mcg - felt great for 6 months, after which hypo symptoms crept back. Had blood taken to check what was going on and was frightened to find that free T3 was 13.5 (3.0 - 6.2) Knocked dose back to 125 and by the end of one week my pulse was in the low 50s and I felt altogether terrible. Put dose back up to 150 and still feel hypo. Ferritin is good; serum cortisol is OK (9am 593 (140-700)), in saliva it sometimes shows variable output, but usually well within range and at top of range at 8am. DHEA is always low (in blood it is 0.4 (0.8 - 6.95)) - I take 25mg DHEA. Everything I have read on thyroid hormone resistance suggests that in that case TSH is not suppressed - mine is <0.005 (0.4 - 4.0) Can I increase my T3 any further? I'm worried about osteoporosis (I'm a 53 yo female) - and I don't have any way of checking for that! Any comments or advice would be much appreciated. Guest guest
Hyper causes very similar symptoms to hypo and I suspect that is what is going on while oyu are stressing your adrenals. I would need ot see those actual salicva labs to really se ewhat is going on. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
Thanks This is the last saliva result: Cortisol 0900 25.8 (6.0 - 33) noon 6.3 (10.0 - 28) 1600 8.4 (6.0 - 11.8) midnight 3.1 (1.0 - 5) DHEA 0900 1.2 (7.0 - 18.3) noon 0.9 (4.8 - 8.2) 1600 1.2 (3.5 - 6.0) midnight 0.4 (2.0 - 4.0) The lab comment on the cortisol result was " somewhat erratic but essentially normal " My basal pulse is 58, and basal temperature is 36.3C (about 97.3F) - can hyper cause low pulse? And wouldn't I feel better when I dropped the dose if I was hyper? Thanks for all your help Deborah > > Hyper causes very similar symptoms to hypo and I suspect that is what is > going on while oyu are stressing your adrenals. Guest guest
Cortisol 0900 25.8 (6.0 - 33) noon 6.3 (10.0 - 28) 1600 8.4 (6.0 - 11.8) midnight 3.1 (1.0 - 5) This si NOT a normal result it shows the swinging pattern common ot adrenal fatigue, wiht lwo DHEA whihc confirms it. While I would nOT recommend HC for these levels, it DOES need treatment. It is probably stage 3 going to stage 4. I woudl use Phosphatidyl Serine around 9-10am and a couple hours before bedtime at 200mg each dose. DHEA in the AM would probably be helpful as well. NO hyper does NOT cause low pulse and low temps, never. High Free levels wiht these cortils results means oyu are not using the thyroid correctly. I would get Ferritin and a full iron panel run as these are often off in high RT3 levels. You may have high blood levels of thyroid thta is not gettign to the cells due ot high RT3. THis will make yuo feel VERY bad. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
