There are really worse things. I am not from Texas, but I know a couple of ladies that have RP live there. If you would like I can forward your name and address to them. I have had RP since before '87, Everyone is right, this is a great group, very supportive and if you have any kind of problems someone should have the answers for you. Because RP effects the ears, which also include the inner ear and the middle ear, the pharynx and will just about anything in your head. Vertigo and dizziness can go with it. A Rheumy that is familiar with RP would be great, but with your presenting symptoms you may wish to ask him for a referral to see an otolarynologist. This is a doctor that specializes in ENT medicine. But he is the top level of ENTs. Some 15 years of college and training. A good otolarynologist will know how to treat this vertigo and dizziness. It is usually caused by either fluid build up or by inflammation. In which case it is not a good thing to leave untreated. Besides it makes life not fun. If you contact one of the better hospitals in your area they should know who the local otolarynologist is. These guys are also surgeons so they would be listed with the hospitals.
