Guest guest
Hey Group,Last night, I had a serious bout of panic attack and my heart was racing and it felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. This morning, I took half the dose of T3 that I usually take and about an hour to an hour and a half later I'm feeling very jittery, shortness of breath and I'm very irritable. I've tried to figure this out before but to no avail. At this point I don't know what to do. I thought that reducing would help, but I still am feeeling thesame symptoms. My labs indicate that I have a reverse T3 problem but it seems that when I take the T3 medication, it makes me feel hyper. Does anyone have any knowledge on this? At this point, I'm thinkking about giving up on all of this and just accepting the way I am. I'm sorry that I keep belaboring this, but I'm really not feeling good at this point. Any info is greatly appreciated. -- Mike
Guest guest
Mike, Don't give up! I know that feeling. I have given myself this year to get straightened out or throw in the towel. I'm glad I am staying the course. I finally feel I am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel regarding how I feel physically. What you are feeling from taking the t3 is classic inability to handle t3 due to ??? Could be low ferritin, low cortisol, etc. Having panic attacks from taking t3 is more adrenal I think, especially as you said your ferritin is good. I think you said you have an appointment with Val. Have your labs on hand; she will help you sort this out! Also, for what it's worth, I had to completely stop t3 a few times and start all over as I couldn't tolerate it or would end up having to take very high doses of HC, which didn't seem right to me. (I'm talking like 50 or more HC a day.) After addressing a viral infection I had, I was able to go back on t3 with normal doses of HC and am up to 105 mcg now. Woo hoo! I also had to change how I dosed it. I was trying to take tiny amounts every 2 hours, which wasn't working at all. Sometimes you have to play with how you dose, but in your case, with taking only a half dose today and such a strong reaction, it seems to point more toward intolerance for whatever reason. I know you are under a lot of stress with the DP and so forth. I don't know if you have other possible issues, like unknown infecions or so forth that could be also creating adrenal stress. It may be your adrenals need help the most right now and you will have to stop t3 for just a bit until you get them in order and then try again. Ask Val about that, too. Guest guest
only my guess...but perhaps you now need LESS .......and should continue to reduce gradually until you do not have outrageous symptoms when you take your reduced dose??? ------- Original Message ------- From : Rouse Sent : 5/11/2010 9:41:51 AM To : RT3_T3 Cc : Subject : RE: Had something major hapen last night - please read Hey Group, Last night, I had a serious bout of panic attack and my heart was racing and it felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. Guest guest
Hey there Mike, I don't know if this applies to you as I was on Armour at the time, not T3 only, but due to working with resistance issues, I suddenly developed a fast pulse (over 100), shakes, ...my blood pressure was high. I was a mess. I tried to lower my dose, but nothing seemed to work. I had to take a break for a while (about a week) before I could tolerate any thyroid again. Even the smallest dose started the symptoms. I think my body need to clear what was there? I don't know. I also have really bad acid reflux that is causing me to cough. That lot sounds hypo. The strange heart effects when you go hypo can be adrenal stress causing adrenaline to be pumped.
