Guest guest
haley, When I was researching/googling high RT3 a while back, quite a few threads showed up from Low Carbers, Muscle Builder, and various Diet forums where people posted that they noticed after going " low carb " their RT3 levels shot way up. So your dieting, if it was particularly low carb, may have had a bigger influence on the RT3 than you think. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: scdlymie <scdlymie@> > > > > > > > > Subject: Re: Toxic Metals and RT3 > > > > > > > > To: RT3_T3 > > > > > > > > Date: Thursday, May 6, 2010, 8:14 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I have very high levels of mercury and lead. I've known about this for some time and all attempts to get this to detox has been pretty unsuccessful. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > However, my most recent urine toxic metals testing shows huge amounts of these being excreted. The main change has been T3 only treatment. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Due to the detox problems my doctor did a range of tests to look for where the methylation problem is, and there was only one area: glutathione conjugation. I've also added higher amounts of the raw materials (3 amino acids) to my supplement regimen. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > So only these 2 changes are showing very encouraging results. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sherry > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
Hi Kate, Thanks for the reply! Well, I sure am hoping that my RT3 is caused mostly by my yo-yo dieting for the last 5 years! That would be great! Each time I diet (low carb!), I lose around 25 pounds, then gain it back within a few months when I go back to eating slightly more (i.e an extra 500 calories a day or so of carbs). I have done this around 6 times in the last 5 years, until eventually last year, no matter what I did, the weight just wouldn't budge! But the thing is, I haven't been dieting for over a year now, and my RT3 is still high...higher actually! I know RT3 promotes itself, so maybe that's what's happened. I should be getting my new thyroid labs tomorrow, so I'm interested to see whats going on now that my temps have been stable for a few weeks now!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: scdlymie <scdlymie@> > > > > > > > > > Subject: Re: Toxic Metals and RT3 > > > > > > > > > To: RT3_T3 > > > > > > > > > Date: Thursday, May 6, 2010, 8:14 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I have very high levels of mercury and lead. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sherry > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences.
