Guest guest
Hi Kathleen: do you take anything else at bedtime? I'm wondering if there is an interaction going on here (or failing to occur). Do I remember correctly, did you recently lower or eliminate your bedtime dose of HC? If yes, that may be affecting how you use (or fail to use) your bedtime dose of T3. > > Hello All, > > Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share their own thoughts, opinions and experiences with taking a bedtime dose of t3. > > I've been having some difficulties with it and would very much appreciate anyone's experiences or advice. > > > Thank you! > Kathleen >
Guest guest
Thanks for all the replies! Margery: I've been experimenting recently with what I do for bedtime doses. I was taking t3 every night for at least 2 months, but not HC. My cortisol was too low at that time, and Val suggested I raise it, which I did. I was on only 11.25 and I went up to 25, with 2.5 at bedtime. After that, my sleep got much worse. It's actually very complicated. I have high basals, higher than daytime temps, even before a bedtime dose of HC. Val thought I had high nighttime cortisol doing this. But of course, raising the HC is supposed to lower the nighttime cortisol, so that's why I was taking the bedtime dose of HC. Maybe I don't need it? I wake constantly, every couple hours. But I'm not sure if it's high or low cortisol. When my cortisol is WAY low in the night, I wake feeling wired and trembly and even with a sore throat. And that did happen when I increased the HC recently, but now it has passed and I am back to my " normal " of just waking constantly but able to fall back asleep for the most part. I did reduce my bedtime t3 a tad and that did help. (I was taking 1/ my total dose at bed and I think this was just too much.) Then last night I experimented by dropping the bedtime dose of t3 and can't say I slept much better and I didn't feel as good when I woke up, either. If you could figure ths one out, you deserve a bonus, LOL!!! I may just have to experiment and see what works. Maybe I don't need the bedtime HC anymore? I don't know! It's all very confusing, especially as my cortisol rthym has changed since I inceased the HC.
