Guest guest
Hi, Everyone...Quick summary - I've dealt with adrenal fatigue and thyroid issues for years now. Have been on HC for adrenal support and alternating between NT and Cytomel depending on how my RT3 ratio is. Most recently about 2 months ago my RT3 had gone up again so I'm now back on T3 only. Am currently taking 15 mg. of HC and 37.5 of T3 per day. In the past I was on Florinef for low aldosterone but eventually got off it due to bad swelling. Main symptoms are EXTREME weakness and sleepiness, fatigue, fibromyalgia symptoms - muscle tightness and pain, headaches, etc. New symptoms that have recently developed are vertigo - positional. When I lay down or sit up after laying down or bend over I feel like I'm being slung off a ride that's spinning. It only lasts about 5-10 seconds. Also, sweating again when I shouldn't sweat (having done nothing to cause it or VERY light activity like just standing a few minutes). Also - have had BOTH hamstrings " pull " or whatever in the past 2 months - not doing ANY exercise so nothing to cause this. Left leg hurt for 2 months - back of knee and around to the front and whole hamstring area. Now the right leg is doing the same thing. I've also noticed my upper arm muscles feel VERY " sore " and weak - they hurt REALLY badly like I've exercised like crazy - but I've done nothing! It's like all my muscles all over are somehow weakening - ? Is all this hypo-related or could something else be going on? I checked my basal temp orally this morning and it was 96.6! Just now tested and it's 97.8. I know I need to get some temps for several days and am starting that today. As for my labs, I'd requested Aldosterone and for some reason they didn't request that one... I was low a couple of years ago (4 I think) - B-12 was high - I'd been taking 5000 mg. a day and dropped to 2000 now. Vit. D was low so I've started taking that again as well. The ferritin being 124 was weird - I'd always tended to run low - 37 at one time - Val thinks that was a false normal and that I need a full iron panel to know for sure. I'm going to be requesting any additional labs when I go, so if there's anything else you feel I need to get, let me know! I'm already on HC so can't do saliva right now. My initial saliva was done 2 years ago and it wasn't " REALLY bad " but Val did feel HC would help, which it did. But I've NEVER been able to get everything balanced and gave up for a while, was back down to just 10 HC. AfterI got these last labs, I switched from 2.5 grains of Erfa to T3 only and upped the HC to 15... So here's what I have for now: Quest Labs - 3/31/10Vit. D: 19 (20-100) TSH: <.01 (.40-4.5) T3, Free: 289 (230-420) T3, Reverse: 33 (11-32)Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies: <10 (<35)Ferritin: 124 (10-232) Vit. B-12: 1689 (200-1100)I am not going to be able to get back in to the doctor till next Friday - and I feel like I'm in a partial coma or something - just SO sleepy and weak and dizzy. What I'm wondering is whether the full iron panel is really necessary? Or should I just start supplementing iron again and see if it helps? Since I definitely have the tendency to run LOW in ferritin, I'm thinking Val is right and this was a false normal. So just wondering whether to wait on labs or go ahead and take iron again? Also, should I keep increasing the T3 since I'm almost definitely still hypo based on that 96.6 basal - ? I'm only at 37.5 mcg right now but had been unsure of whether to raise or not since I seem to get a fast pulse a few times during the day. My resting right now and last night is right at 80. Just need some help sorting all this out - it's hard to know what symptoms are from hypo and what symptoms might be something " new " - ?!Thanks so much,Jacki

A lot of those sound adrenal The adrenal group is closed for a break until the weekend but after that it's worth joining and posting these questions http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ Their FAQ Web site is here http://faqhelp.webs.com/ It's worth doing the Dr Rind average temperature check for a few days before then Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
