Guest guest
Hi, If I had my blood drawn in the middle of thyroid dumping, would the rt3 indication be skewed? TSH .01 Free t3 3.7 (range 2.3-4.2) Free t4 1.1 (range 0.8-1.18) R3 389 (range 90-350) TPO 1766 (range less than 60) Antibodies 212 My doctor is not against doing t-3 only, but she thinks that the test results are more because of the dumping I was doing when my blood was drawn. She is hesitant on putting me on t3 only since I " swing " so much (due to the Hashi), and she also thinks I went up on the dessicated thyroid too quickly. The thinking behind the quick increase (below) was that I was at a limbo-land dose (enough where my own thyroid relaxed but not enough to do the jog)--and that's why my symptoms became so much worse after starting the meds. Here is how I increased (I'm on a compounded dessicated thyroid): Week 1: 15mg once a day Week 2: 15mg/am, 15mg/pm(30 total) Next 5 days: 30mg/am, 15mg/pm (45 total) Next 3 days: 30mg/am; 30mg/pm (60 total) Next 2 days: 45mg/am, 30mg/pm (75 total; started really going downhill--likely started the thyroid dumping at this level) Next 9 days: 45mg.am, 45mg/pm (90 total; started HC on fifth day of 90--went up to 10mg of HC within three days) and went even more downhill, more dumping) Been back at 15am/15pm for the last week. Feel better (only in comparison) to than when I was on the higher doses and dumping, but am still way worse in many ways than before I started the medicine. Other info: Stopped HC on Tuesday (have always taken other adrenal support) My morning basal temp has always been 98.00--even pre-meds Been doing the afternoon temps for last 10 days, and they are what people aim for--usually around 98.4 mid morning, going up to 98.6 mid afternoon, coming down again in the evening; average over 10 days: 98.5 So, in light of all of the above, go more slowly on increases for the dessicated and redraw blood before trying to go just on t-3? Thanks.
