Guest guest
If there will be 2 orthos then it will probably be fine for your hubby not to go. I'm not familiar with the STARbnad casting process. I can give you an idea what happens in general. With the DOC band it's made in 2 pieces. Here are some pics from my girls casting appts. na's cast from band 1 to band 2 we had 2 clinicians. You can see the ridge on top that separates the halfs. They try to smooth it down so that it conforms to the baby's head as closely as possible. http://www.thefilyaws.com/plagio/b_casting/b_casting.html http://www.thefilyaws.com/plagio/k_cast/k_cast.html na was at Kiersten's casting. She just sat over in the chair and didn't cause a fuss, very suprising since she was only 2 1/2. na, DOC Grad X2 Feb 04, Tort ResvoledKiersten, DOC Grad April 06, Tort Resolvedwww.thefilyaws.com/plagio/plagio.html>> Avery (5 months) will be getting casted for her STARband this coming > Wednesday (19th).> Any wonderful advice from all you experienced parents out there? Guest guest
Hi Holly, Good luck on Wednesday! Bring a lollipop with you, it'll help distract Avery. The casting is over quickly and is painless. They cry b/c they don't like being held down. Let us know how you make out. > > Avery (5 months) will be getting casted for her STARband this coming > Wednesday (19th). > Any wonderful advice from all you experienced parents out there? Guest guest
Hello Holly Good luck Wednesday. As far as I know it's pretty normal to have two folks for the casting. I know we had. We had a nurse basically holding my daughter and then the actual doc casting. My husband was there to give her paci, bottle, re-asurement.. I would take your mom with you so you can take pictures, or she can and if possible I would leave your son at home. Just me though. There will be enough going on without a curious toddler (coming from a toddler mom LOL). Let us know how it went and take her favorite toys, bottle, paci with you. Casting just makes them mad and looks worse than it is.
