Guest guest
hey kitty, i have been struggling with whether or not i am high or low cortisol for a little while now. wondering if i could ask your help on what exactly high cortisol symptoms are... background: i am on week 11 of T3 only, and i feel like i have some mixed signals going on, i think i am having high cortisol symptoms, like easy bruising, fluid retention, holding onto weight in middle and face, hot flashes?? BUT, my feet are hurting more and more in last few days, and my knees ache, and some tmj pain happening. usually i would suspect joint pain to be a low thyroid thing or a low cortisol thing, but i wonder if foot pain has ever had anything to do high cortisol. i have raised T3 in accordance with my low ferritin, i have been supplemented like crazy, including lactoferrin + beef liver + ferrous biglycinate, but this has only allowed me to reach 50mcg t3, and i just raised to 56.5 mcg t3 yesterday. if i raised too fast in beginning of t3 only my temps would drop a little and i'd feel worse. but they would never fluctuate wildly, they would never fluctuate by more than .2 degrees. my temps have lately in past few weeks been averaging 98.8-98.9, then when i started my period 3 days ago, it went to 98.73 the first day, then 98.56, then 98.67. i had lowered my cortisol from 30mg to 27.5 mg and have maintaind 27.5 mg for about two weeks, my temps have still remained high. today, after my t3 increase yesterday my temps have been 98.9 and 98.7. my sitting bp earlier was 110/66 then i stood and it was 107/65, not a big drop at all. i just now took my BP again and sitting was 116/63, pulse 65, standing 101/62 pulse 71. sorry to be so long winded, but this foot pain is driving me CRAZY yesterday and today, cant keep them flat on the floor or stand for long at all. knee pain bad too:( maybe i didnt need the t3 increase, but i am so confused as 50mcg t3 seems to be such a low t3 dose esp at week 11, and especially for maintaining such high temps. do you have any thoughts? thanks!!!!!! > > > > you should usually wait about 7 days between each decrease unless you are having major symptoms of high cortisol. > > > > Kitty > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: colcroke <colcroke@> > > To: RT3_T3 > > Sent: Fri, May 14, 2010 7:11:54 PM > > Subject: When will adrenal board open? > > > >  > > I have a weaning question on the adrenals. Guest guest
You do sound high cortisol actually. High cortisol can be high temps, sweaty, red/flushed face/chest, weight gain in face, back of neck, legs, easy bruising, stretch marks etc. Have you read the faq? http://faqhelp.webs.com/ TMJ pain and joint pain make me think more of low thyroid. My jaw was really bad before going to just T3. Foot pain... I get that more from fluid retention and PMS. Have you had your hormones checked? My testosterone and progesterone have gone horribly low and my joints/muscle are really feeling it. How is your pulse? Maybe try raising your T3? I have been raising T3 and lowering HC at the same time even though my ferritin is low. My pulse and BP have been fine. Are you taking any other hormones like florinef or progesterone? They can decrease your need for HC as well. Guest guest
Just wanted to say that I have always had low cortisol..in fact I think its close to addisons. Yet I got the stretch marks ..also I get the bruising and flushed face from high estrogen. And the sweating I get from adrenaline..it goes away when I take extra isocort.I am very confused by these examples. Guest guest
maybe cyclic cushings? You may be getting relief from isocort because it could be suppressing your own output of cortisol. BUT, my feet are hurting more and more in last few days, and my knees ache, and some tmj pain happening. usually i would suspect joint pain to be a low thyroid thing or a low cortisol thing, but i wonder if foot pain has ever had anything to do high cortisol.i have raised T3 in accordance with my low ferritin, i have been supplemented like crazy, including lactoferrin + beef liver + ferrous biglycinate, but this has only allowed me to reach 50mcg t3, and i just raised to 56.5 mcg t3 yesterday. if i raised too fast in beginning of t3 only my temps would drop a little and i'd feel worse. but they would never fluctuate wildly, they would never fluctuate by more than .2 degrees.my temps have lately in past few weeks been averaging 98.8-98.9, then when i started my period 3 days ago, it went to 98.73 the first day, then 98.56, then 98.67. i had lowered my cortisol from 30mg to 27.5 mg and have maintaind 27.5 mg for about two weeks, my temps have still remained high.today, after my t3 increase yesterday my temps have been 98.9 and 98.7. my sitting bp earlier was 110/66 then i stood and it was 107/65, not a big drop at all. i just now took my BP again and sitting was 116/63, pulse 65, standing 101/62 pulse 71. sorry to be so long winded, but this foot pain is driving me CRAZY yesterday and today, cant keep them flat on the floor or stand for long at all. knee pain bad too:(maybe i didnt need the t3 increase, but i am so confused as 50mcg t3 seems to be such a low t3 dose esp at week 11, and especially for maintaining such high temps.do you have any thoughts?thanks!!!!!!> >> > you should usually wait about 7 days between each decrease unless you are having major symptoms of high cortisol.> > > > Kitty> > > > > > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ __> > From: colcroke <colcroke@>> > To: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) com> > Sent: Fri, May 14, 2010 7:11:54 PM> > Subject: When will adrenal board open?> > > >  > > I have a weaning question on the adrenals.
